Plastic crack is back

So, I thought I would never get back into the game, that game being Warhammer 40,000. I however miss the community and I miss the art. I used to do some painting for commission, and I would kind of like to get back into the game, but I am going to have to start from scratch which, with Games workshop has always been expensive and regularly goes up. Anyways, here are some pictures of some commissions I did in the past. Unfortunately, the pictures I took are crap and they are mostly update pictures I would send to clients, so a lot of the pictures are works in progress that I finished ages ago and have since completed

Tyranids from a biodiversity theme- meaning different broods have different color schemes based upon an environment. The warriors are based off of Charleston blue crabs.

More blue blue crab tyranid warriors

This one is a Tyrannofex before there was a model for it. Its based off of a rock crab.

An obvious note to these warriors, is I changed the face to something more Cthulu-esque.

The hive tyrant was based off of an Osprey… You can see the coastal theme I was going for. For you 40k fans, I bet this is the first Tyrant you have seen with feathers.

A lost art is banners… big gorgeous banners. They used to be the center piece of the army, but they are now replaced by vehicle art, which I hate. It make me think of those hippy conversion vans with a wizard, Thor, Stevie Nix or all three painted on its side.

I hated how this came out. It looks like they are behind a giant lemon slice.

My version of a Mycetic spore. Made simply with a hot glue gun, gorilla glue sprayed with water and a big plastic easter egg.

DIY Zoanthrope… looks better too.

My Tervigon before the model existed

This was, by far my favorite vehicle art.

I rarely do object source lighting, because I think the level of skill to pull it off is usually beyond the painter. This came off well though
